A proneurogenic and neuroprotective compound; derivative of P7C3; increases proliferation the SGZ of the adult mouse dentate gyrus (0.1-10 µM); decreases contusion volume, increases proliferation in the SGZ, and improves learning in the Morris water maze (10 mg/kg, i.p., twice daily for one week); prevents or reverses dopaminergic cell death and motor deficits in a 6-OHDA rat model of Parkinson’s disease
